I started plumbing when I was 18 years old, and more than 25 years later, I’m still doing the same work. I’ve always loved helping people solve real problems and taking care of the communities that have supported me and my family.
At 25, I started Petersen Plumbing Services in Mill Valley with nothing more than a truck, my tools, and a simple standard: do the job right, stand behind your word, and treat people with respect. There were no investors, no corporate backing, and no layers of management just me, doing the work one customer at a time.
Today, I am still the Owner & Operator. I still answer the phone, meet with customers, diagnose problems, perform work, and stand behind every job we complete. When you call Petersen Plumbing Services, you’re not calling a call center or being passed through departments you’re talking directly to me.
In a time when most things feel automated and distant, I believe there is real value in knowing exactly who you’re doing business with. Accountability isn’t a marketing idea, it’s showing up, doing the work, and being there long after the invoice is paid.
I’ve built my life and my business in Marin County and Sonoma County. These aren’t just service areas they’re home. From fishing Bon Tempe Lake in Fairfax, hiking Mount Tamalpais, walking Muir Woods, spending time at Stinson Beach, or stopping by the Marin Farmers Market in San Rafael, this is where I live my life.
Outside of plumbing, I enjoy gardening, painting, playing guitar and drums, and spending time outdoors in the places that keep me grounded.
There are always new companies entering the market, but experience and consistency matter. Trust isn’t built through advertising, it’s built over decades of showing up, doing the work right, and standing behind it.
My goal is to be the plumber people know, trust, and can call directly for years to come.
